Morant has been suspended multiple times in the past for incidents involving actual guns. In 2023, he was suspended eight games after flashing a gun on Instagram at a Colorado nightclub. Then, in May of the same year, he was suspended 25 more games after again showing off a gun while in a car during another Instagram video.

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant is under scrutiny for a gesture he made at the Golden State Warriors bench that could be construed as a person mimicking the shooting of a gun, late in the Warriors’ 134-125 victory Tuesday.

Morant, who has a checkered past of playing with guns on camera, made a gun gesture toward the Warriors bench at the end of Tuesday night’s loss, clearly upsetting Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
