Ron DeSantis' campaign to purge Florida's public university system of "woke" ideology has included eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, scrubbing "identity politics" from general education courses and installing politically-aligned leadership in presidencies.

Florida will join five other Southern states to form the new accreditation program for their public universities.

In conjunction with other southern states, Florida is developing a new university accrediting commission in response to existing agencies the governor says require schools to “bend the knee” to get accredited.
