The NBA made a historical announcement regarding the Oklahoma City Thunder after Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
The Oklahoma City Thunder defended home court in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday night, taking a 114–88 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves to move one step closer to the NBA Finals.
Luguentz Dort and Jalen Williams were named to the NBA All-Defensive First and Second Teams, respectively, marking the first such honors for both and a historic first for the Thunder with multiple players selected in the same season.
The Thunder shot a blazing 61.9 percent from the field in the second half, including 61.5 percent from beyond the 3-point line. Meanwhile, the stunned Timberwolves made just 35 percent of their shots in the final 24 minutes, including a woeful 21.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James made NBA MVP voting history this season. No, the 21-time All-Star power forward did not win a fifth MVP award, but he did earn one fourth-place vote and 13 fifth-place votes from the league's pool of 100 global media members.
Oklahoma City overwhelmed Minnesota, 118-103, on Thursday night to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals.
The third quarter has been a torture chamber for the Thunder’s opponents. Can the Wolves escape it? And are NBA Draft prospects shrinking?
