The National Hurricane Center says a tropical tropical or subtropical depression could form near Florida's Atlantic coast during July 4th weekend.

The National Hurricane Center increased its odds that a tropical system could develop near Florida late this week or early next week as forecasters expect a wet July 4 weekend for South Florida.

This could happen toward the end of this week, into the Fourth of July holiday weekend. According to the National Hurricane Center, some gradual tropical or subtropical development could occur as it drifts slowly just off the U.S. coastline.
