Nintendo of Canada has announced that the pricing of the Switch, its accessories, its games and even Amiibo figures, will all be changing in Canada come August. The pricing adjustment is being made "based on market conditions," according to the the announcement.

The Switch currently sells for $400 CAD, with the Switch OLED going for $450 CAD, and the Switch Lite selling for $260 CAD. The Switch 2, meanwhile, sells for $630 CAD or $700 CAD for the Mario Kart World bundle.

The Switch launched in 2017 for $300. It’s now 2025 and it’s still $300. Will it finally get a price cut like every other Nintendo console has had at some point in its lifecycle or will the Mario maker take the unprecedented step of actually making it more expensive, even after the Switch 2 is out? According to Nintendo, we’ll find out on August 1.
