LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves could use some extra support in the scoring column. All three players averaged over 20 points per game last season, but only one other player who finished the season on the roster had a scoring average in double figures.

The Lakers helped address a need to increase their athleticism at the wing by acquiring Arkansas' Adou Thiero, the No. 36 overall pick of the NBA draft.

Lakers Trade Up To Pick Adou Thiero

James, the eldest son of 21-time All-NBA Lakers combo forward LeBron James, made league history after being selected with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA draft. The James men became the first father-son duo to both play simultaneously in the league together and to suit up on the same team.

The opening day of the summer league slate from Las Vegas is a good one. Seven games will be played simultaneously at Cox Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center. The headliner will feature No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks face Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers in primetime.

Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, is expected to immediately suit up for the Dallas Mavericks once the Las Vegas Summer League kicks off.
