U.S. officials say hundreds of medical professionals will face federal charges for alleged roles in various healthcare schemes that resulted in financial losses to the tune of billions.

The Justice Department announced its 2025 National Health Care Fraud Takedown, including 96 medical professionals nationwide for alleged involvement, totaling over $14.6 billion in losses.

Prosecutors described it as the largest coordinated takedown of health care fraud schemes in Justice Department history.
