Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said President Trump is "very excited" to visit a facility that state officials are calling "Alligator Alcatraz."

Attorneys for the state argue that a judge should reject an attempt by environmental groups to halt the project dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz.”

The detention immigration facility is located in an idle airstrip in the Everglades that the DeSantis administration recently seized from Miami-Dade County using emergency powers.
