Bobby Bonilla Day is an opportunity to poke fun at the Mets, but the deal is the reason the team ended up with one of its all-time greats.

Last offseason, the Los Angeles Dodgers gave baseball megastar Shohei Othani a $700 megadeal. As part of that contract, the Dodgers will delay $680 million of payments the $700 million deal until the next decade. Othani will start receiving $68 million per year in 2034.

Bobby Bo hasn't played for the Mets since 1999, but Tuesday he'll receive his annual hefty check from the team.
