Hyundai Motor President José Muñoz has drawn a line, stating that the company has no plans to raise car prices in the U.S. in response to President Donald Trump's 25% tariff on imported vehicles. Muñoz made this statement during a media day event at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea.

On top of that, Trump has already enacted 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum shipped to the US and he’s threatened to impose tariffs on copper. All three metals are needed to make cars, therefore, tariffs on those will also raise the cost of making a car.

The Trump administration is launching a 25% tariff on auto imports Thursday, which means current sticker prices won’t stick. “You’re looking at $4,000-$15,000 increases on the sticker of the vehicle,” Lithia Hyundai General Manager Moose Pohyar said.
